Dwayne,
I love what you have done to the site! I love the music even better. Every since the guest artist days at Marshall Jazz Festivals, you have been my favorite bass player. I teach music in a couple of urban (elementary) schools in Columbus, Ohio and I have the kids listen to your music. They used to listen to only hip hop and rap but now they are learning to love jazz and other genres.
Thanks!

Ben Galley

December 7, 2007

Hey Dwayne, I was searching for a good play to take by girlfriend to for Christmas and i was looking at "A Christmas Carol" at the Byham and noticed your name. It immediately jumped out to me because i have never forgotten your name since the time that my brother-in-law and I found the Leaf and Bean store and you came and chatted with us while we relaxed with a cigar. You told us how you just got back from a tour in Europe and my brother-in-law was telling you about some concerts you may be interested in playing in Lynchburg, VA. Then we told you we were going to a pirates game that night and you decided to go yourself. Well the name on the Byhams page led me to search out your sight. Just dropping a friendly Hello, and wanted you to know that I remembered that day when you told us about yourself, and it was a good memory. God-Bless,
Ben Galley

Lou Stellute went into the hospital about a week or so ago... ended up having by-pass surgery. It looks like he'll be fine. He's planning on taking a couple months off for recovery - then no doubt he'll be back on the horn! Doctor's said that his activity level - jogging etc. all helped as it could have been much worse.

We wish Lou the best in his recovery.

We've posted a quick note in the forums for Lou. Feel free to put up a note to Lou - wishing him well.

Howdy, Dwayne, from deep in the heart of Texas once again. We left Minneapolis just over a year ago and are living in Brownsville, the furthest south point in the contiguous United States. I'm playing jazz 3-5 nights per week with a quartet, including a steady Monday gig across the bridge in Matamoros, Mexico (about 10 minutes from my house!) I have a little girl who just turned 3 years old, and life is good at present.

I was checking out versions I have of "Softly" and on iTunes and yours came up, so I had to look you up. It's really cool to see you on the web and be reminded of our various meetings over the last few years. Say hi to your brother Fred and anyone else who might remember me. Love ya,
